Three PetroChina construction projects won the National Quality Engineering Gold Award

China Petroleum Network News (Reporter Fu Linshu, Miao Boyi, Correspondent Lin Li) On December 11, reporters learned that the Bab Oilfield Comprehensive Facilities Project and the Iraq Halfaya Oilfield Ground Construction EPCC Project, which were constructed by China Petroleum as a general contractor, won the 2022-2023 National Quality Engineering Gold Award (Overseas Project), and the Sinochem Quanzhou 1 million tons/year ethylene and refining expansion project won the 2022-2023 National Quality Engineering Gold Award.
The Bab Oilfield Comprehensive Facilities Project is located in the southwest desert area of Abu Dhabi, UAE. As the largest EPC project executed by Chinese companies in the high-end market of petroleum engineering, the project independently developed and applied a 5 million tons/year single-column single-unit crude oil processing process package for the first time, established a performance evaluation system for nickel-based alloy composite pipe welding joints under "four high" media conditions for the first time, and won the PMI (China) Project Management Award "Belt and Road International Project Award".
The EPCC project of the ground construction of the Halfaya Oilfield in Iraq is located in Missan Province in southeastern Iraq. It has the characteristics of multiple distribution points, severe security situation, poor social support, poor crude oil properties, and high quality requirements for finished oil. In response to this, the project team has continuously strengthened management innovation and scientific research, and completed the project construction ahead of schedule, and successfully commissioned it once.
In addition, the Karamay gas field boosting and deep cooling efficiency improvement project undertaken by China Petroleum and the Huaneng Jiangsu Dafeng 400MW offshore wind power project participated in the construction and other projects won the National Quality Engineering Award.
The National Quality Engineering Award is a national-level quality award across industries and disciplines in the field of engineering construction. The highest award is the National Quality Engineering Gold Award, which represents the highest honor for China's engineering construction quality. A total of 40 projects won the National Quality Engineering Gold Award (including overseas projects), and 607 projects won the National Quality Engineering Award (including overseas projects).
